Born in Great Falls, Virginia, Monique Comfort spent her time following her brother to the local fishing pond. Little did she know this would lead to a lifetime passion for the sport of fishing. The fire was fueled by spending summers at her New Jersey Grandmother's shore home where weekly deep sea fishing trips where always on the schedule. By age 12 her other Grandmother owned a home in Florida and Atlantic Ocean fishing was forever in her blood. Being close to the ocean even motivated her decision to go to college at the University of Miami and eventually settling in the state of Florida permanently. After graduation and spending 5 years in corporate America where 50 hour weeks cut into time on the water, she realized that it was time to move on. She was then able to combine her love of water with a totally different career when she formed Billfishgirl Big Game Lures with fellow fishing enthusiast and WBS Top Female Angler, Kerri Burrus, a.k.a Billfishgirl. Soon after she began her adventure into underwater photography, which has become her true passion.

Monique shoots all images using a Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II. Images are shot at 17MB of resolution.
